On Saturday, September 11, Grandfather Mountain will celebrate Kidfest, a day designed to get kids excited about the nature and culture of the North Carolina Mountains through fun and entertaining activities.


2010 Schedule

all day   
 Naturalist Table by Keith Mastin of Western NC Nature Center in the Nature Museum Lobby will be available throughout the day.
9   
 Guided hike at the Woods Walk trail with Naturalist Katie Gray.
10-11   
 Story time and Craft lead by Watauga County Library
11   
 Birds of the Blue Ridge live demonstration in the Nature Museum Auditorium.
11-2   
 Face painting at the Fudge Shop
12-2   
 Nature Crafts at the Nature Museum Lobby
1-3   
 Storyteller Glen Bollick in the Nature Museum auditorium
3-4   
 Stationed Habitats staff on hand in Habitat area to answer questions.
3:30   
 "Quick Frozen Critters" at the Woods Walk trail. A "tag" style game that teaches about the challenges our animal friends must overcome to survive in the woods.
