KERRY OVERFELT WINS SCOTTISH ATHLETE OF THE GRANDFATHER GAMES FOR THIRD YEAR IN A ROW

GRANDFATHER MOUNTAIN, NC –Kerry Overfelt of Bardstown, KY prevailed this year and earned the title of overall winner for the 52nd annual Grandfather Mountain Highland Games.

Overfelt, 35, has been ranked as a top athlete for years and so far in 2007 he is fourth overall in the national professional division.

The professional athletes participate in seven competitions and Overfelt won five of them – the 56-pound weight throw, the 20-pound sheaf toss, the 22-pound hammer throw, the 28-pound weight throw and the 56-pound weight toss. These are the same five events that Overfelt was victories in during the 2006 Highland Games.
