(Viola rotundifolia)

A small, rhizomatous Violet with as small yellow flowers early in the spring before the leaves emerge. The leaves are round and shiny and lay right on the ground.Native to the southeastern US, they grow in moist deciduous woods of the mountains and piedmont. March-April.
