Programs and Tours for Groups

Engage your group. Inspire your visit.

The wonder of Grandfather Mountain is all around you, every visit. But when you add a special program or tour for your group, you take your experience to the next level. Choose from these options, or contact us to create a customized program for your group.

Special Programs & Guided Habitat Tours with Staff Naturalist

Our Education Staff has prepared a selection of age-specific, curriculum based programs available to school groups for an additional activity fee of $1 per student. Programs last approximately one hour.

Our naturalist also leads informative and entertaining tours of the Animals Habitats (by appointment). A $1 activity fee will be added for each student on the Habitat tour (church groups and coach groups that desire the guided habitat tour pay $1 per person). Ask the reservationists how you can include this guided tour in your visit. Plan on the tour taking 45 minutes.

Naturalist programs and habitat tours must be requested at the time of reservation to ensure that the dates and times will be available.

  • My wife and I along with our daughter, son in law and grand daughter recently visited the mountains and one of the highlights was our trip the Grandfather Mt. The reason it was great was because everything is handicap accessible.  My wife is wheelchair bound and we were able to include her in everything even the bridge. She was so happy because she was able to tell everyone the story of the first time she ever walked across the bridge and how it was made of wood. The animal park was the best and the highlight for our grand daughter. We were on vacation for a week and the trip to Grandfather was the last day and we truly saved the best for last. Thank you for all you do to make this State Treasure open to all.
