Moonrise

Jim Morton sent this email November 23rd saying simply, "Nice moonrise this evening. Thought you'd like proof."

The temperature dropped 31 degrees from a high of 51º on Thursday (November 22) to a low of 20º on Friday (November 23) -- freezing the clouds and tinting the peaks with white.

That is is not anwhere near the record for the largest temperature drop from one day to the next. The record was a change of 60 degrees between January 2, 1097 (high of 48º) and January 3, 1979 (low of minus 12º). I bet the peaks looked really cold that day! (Jim Morton photo)
