Icicle Dance
A front coming through this past weekend brought cooler temperatures and some snow to Grandfather Mountain. By the March 18 most of the snow was gone and hikers on the Mountain were treated to beautiful views and scenery.
These icicles, seen dangling above a stream on the Nuwati Trail, were particularly interesting. As moisture dripped down from the tree branch across the stream the icicles formed. As the icicles grew closer and closer to the chilly water below they tried to form with it as well. (Landis Wofford photo)
