On Saturday, September 13, Grandfather Mountain will celebrate Kidfest, a day designed to get kids excited about the nature and culture of the North Carolina Mountains through fun and entertaining activities.

Guided hike at the Woods Walk trail with Naturalist Jesse Pope.

Staff on hand in Habitat area to answer questions and lead animal enrichment activities

Birds of the Blue Ridge live demonstration in the Nature Museum Auditorium.

Face painting at the Fudge Shop

Storyteller Glen Bollick in the Museum auditorium

"The Thicket Game" at the Woods Walk trail. A hide-and-go-seek style game that teaches the value of blending in with your surroundings.

Staff on hand in Habitat area to answer questions and lead animal enrichment activities

Quick Frozen Critters at the Fudge Shop. A freeze-tag-like game where children pretend to be animals trying to avoid being tagged by predators.
